Harpreet Singh studied Chemistry in Darmstadt and Biochemistry at Eberhard-Karls-University in Tuebingen, finishing his studies with a diploma thesis in the group of Prof. Dr. Hans-Georg Rammensee. As a research associate at the Department of Immunology he investigated the influence of heat shock proteins on the immune system. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Tuebingen with distinction (“summa cum laude”) in 2002.
Harpreet Singh has been co-founder and Managing Director of immatics since its foundation in 2000. His first responsibilities were translating scientific concepts at the University of Tuebingen into a business model and closing the first round of financing (14 mn EUR in total) in 2004. As CSO he set up discovery and pre-clinical development and then mainly focused on two aspects: (1) the translation of immatics’ proprietary discovery platform into clinical-stage products and (2) the establishment of clinical immunomonitoring in immatics’ phase I and II studies. Additionally, he led clinical development at immatics on interim basis in 2004 and 2009 and is founding member of the Regulatory Working Party of the Association for Cancer Immunotherapy (CIMT).
