immatics is laureate in the "2007 STEP Award"
Tuebingen, Germany, November 30, 2007. Today immatics biotechnologies, a company dedicated to the development of peptide-based immune therapeutics for the treatment of cancers, announced to be laureate in the "2007 STEP Award" in the category "Processes".
The jury was particularly convinced by the exceptionally short pre-clinical development time. For its first product candidate – IMA901 against renal cell cancer – the company took merely 22 months from the analysis of the first tumor samples to commencing vaccination of first patients in a clinical study. Less than a year later immatics was able to conclude this phase 1 study with very promising results. At the end of September 2007, the company started an international Phase 2 study for the cancer vaccine IMA901.
The "STEP Award" is a competition for rewarding high-growth companies in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The initiators, Infraserv Hoechst and the F.A.Z. Institute, jointly pursue with renowned sponsors the aim of giving companies during their growth phase a significant stimulus for their successful development.
